Sommige waren vrij groot en een deel ervan juist heel klein en met nog hun bloemen eraan. <\/span><span title=\"Of course we immediately thought of making fried courgettes (and chilled water with lemon and mint to quench the thirst that comes after eating fried food). \">Natuurlijk dachten we meteen aan gefrituurde courgettes (en ijswater met citroen en munt om de frituur-dorst te lessen&#8230;).<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"You can see the result of his work (I didn't work at all, was too busy filming haha) in this little Snapchat vlog from my Youtube channel (scroll down).\">Je kunt het resultaat van zijn werk zien (ik heb helemaal niet gewerkt, had het te druk met filmen, haha) in dit kleine Snapchat vlog uit mijn Youtube kanaal scroll naar beneden). <\/span><span title=\"A perfect little antipasto which we (4 friends in total) enjoyed still hot and crunchy, fresh out of the frying pan. \">Een perfecte kleine <em>antipasto<\/em> die we met z&#8217;n vieren nog warm en knapperig, vers uit de frituurpan hebben genuttigd.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"But first the recipe. \">Maar eerst het recept.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"150 gr.\">150 gr. <\/span><span title=\"(1 cup) of plain flour \">bloem<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"3 dl.\">3 dl.\u00a0 <\/span><span title=\"(1.2 cup) of ice-cold beer \">ijskoud bier<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"a pinch of salt \">een snufje zout<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"a few courgettes (in slices if big, quartered if small) \">een paar courgettes (de grotere in plakjes, de kleintjes in partjes)<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"6-8 courgette flowers \">6-8 courgettebloemen<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"abundant sunflower oil for frying \">veel zonnebloemolie om te frituren<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"sea salt \">zeezout<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Delicately wash the courgettes and the flowers and cut the bigger courgettes in smaller pieces. \">Was voorzichtig de courgettes en de bloemen en snijd de grotere courgettes in kleinere stukken.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Prepare a batter mixing the flour with the beer plus a pinch of salt until nicely fluid and smooth. \">Bereid het beslag door de bloem met het bier en een snufje zout te mengen tot een vloeibaar en egaal geheel.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Dip the courgette slices and the flowers in the batter and fry them in the hot oil (preferably between 170\u00b0 and 180\u00b0C) until golden. \">Dompel de courgetteplakjes\/partjes en de bloemen in het beslag en frituur ze in de hete olie (bij voorkeur tussen 170\u00b0 en 180\u00b0C) tot ze goudbruin zijn.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Drain on kitchen paper, season with sea salt and enjoy with a cold beer of a glass of chilled Prosecco like we did.\">Laat ze uitlekken op keukenpapier, breng op smaak met zeezout en geniet ervan met een koud biertje of een glas gekoelde Prosecco erbij zoals wij hebben gedaan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s Summer and if you have a veggie garden Summer means one thing: TONS of courgettes (zucchini for our American friends).<br \/>\nMy friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.claudiovarone.com\"><strong>Claudio Varone<\/strong><\/a> is lucky enough to have a big patch of ground at his disposal for planting veggies, flowers and fruit and he knows what I&#8217;m talking about. In 2000 I started teaching Italian cooking at the Volksuniversiteit, as a hobby. In 2002 the hobby became my job and I opened my Italian cooking school in Amsterdam, La Cucina del Sole. In the meantime I've become a certified sommelier and I have written 3 cookbooks. One of them (\"Cucina di casa mia\") won \"3rd Best Italian Cookbook in the World\" in Paris during the Gourmand Cookbook Awards in 2012. Cooking and writing about food are two of my big passions.
